Carnauba Wax occurs as a hard, brittle substance with a resinous fracture and a color ranging from light to pale yellow. It is a purified wax obtained from the leaf buds and leaves of the Brazilian palm Copernicia cerifera (Arruda) Mart. Its specific gravity is about 0.997. It is soluble in boiling alcohol, chloroform and ether; but is insoluble in water.

As glazing agents only for confectionary including chocolate, small products of fine bakery wares coated with chocolate, snacks, nuts, coffee beans, dietary food supplements, fresh citrus fruits, melons, apples, peaches, pineapples and pears. Glazing agent, bulking agent, acidity regulator, carrier, Anticaking agent; surface-finishing (glazing) agent ; release agent; carrier for flavors.
Other Uses: Carnauba Wax is the hardest natural wax and has lustrous composition making it the leading choice for ointments, pharmaceuticals (tablet coatings), candles and polishes.
