One important application area of polyethylene wax is paint. In this direction, the key role is played by the brightness of paints, their durability, drying speed and other characteristics. To achieve them, it is necessary to follow the technological process and mix a number of components.
Polyethylene wax gives decorative paints abrasion and slip resistance. The factor to be taken into account is the particle size. Due to the thickness of the film, particles of about 40 microns should be used.
The addition of polyethylene wax to printing inks is carried out to improve their quality. Evenly distributed in the composition of the paint, the wax significantly improves adhesion. In other words, it promotes the connection of dissimilar materials in close contact.
Polyethylene wax is also used in the production of powder paints, the peculiarity of which is to be applied to the surface spraying. The production of powder paint takes place by mixing and extruding the resulting mass. During the extrusion process, wax acts as a lubricant, reduces pressure and increases throughput. When applying powder paint, wax plays the role of an anti- tracer. Since the part to be coated is electrically grounded, the charged powder will stick to it. During application, the wax reduces the risk of caking and thus provides a reliable coating.
As well as wax reduces the viscosity of the mass, therefore, the surface becomes more even and shiny. The level of addition of polyethylene wax for powder paints varies from 0.2 to 1.5%.
We recommend the brands of polyethylene is K1112-P, K1121-P, K1115-P for the production of coatings.
